Hmmm...

Have u ever found yourself in a situation where things just seem too good to be true? In my life, when this situation occurs, it tends to be.. well.. too good to be true. I hope this time round, things will be different.

Anyway, my friends and i are pooling cash to start an 'investment fund', e initial sum will be less than 10k but more than 5k. you guys can visit Nustrades yahoo grp for comments and messages posted by us. I am using it as a platform to guide by friends into the world of investing and hopefully all of us can gain something outta it. Really hope that their opinions can help me see things from a different pair of glasses as i am already starting to see myself screening out some stocks just because of my previous encounters with stocks of a particular industry. Currently all the post are by me, if you find any debatable argument please let me know your opinion on that issue.

Music Spam

The first two songs are considered oldies while the last 2 can be considered as modern day pop i suppose. Well, the last song, what a disappointment, the beat is so catchy but the lyricsimply sucks. Just some random music, nothing much to blog about too as i wait for my friend. Wireless @ sg is really cool man.. its almost everywhere..Anyway, thanks to all that have tried to help me find the song 双人相梦 previously, now, can help me find another song? i just heard it at a department store, it goes something like ta he ta .. and it keeps repeating.. some lovely dovely song. 2 guys sang it. Anybody knows the title? songs on the right has been updated.

Sesame Street

Sesame street, Transformers, Care Bear & Capitan Planet are just some of the tv show that i watch when i was young. Good, clean and innocent fun. Some even teaches you what is righteousness. Kids nowadays are watching what, a yellow-coloured talking sponge, happy tree friends, south park and other twisted shows which i may not even know. These shows are thrash man.

Memories

Memories are heart wrenching; if they are about happy things, it makes you wonder why those times didn't last. Well, if they are about sad things, of course they will make you miserable when you think of them. In short, they can be bitter sweet at times. Now, why cant we make all memories splendid then?

how true...like the famous adage goes. 'Blessed is he who expecteth nothing, for he shall enjoy everything.' Well well, it holds true for most facets of life i guess.

ACH

a mail i received from a fellow chemical engineering student began with this "Hey ACH (pronounced as A followed by C and H, not Arch)... " i replied to her immediately, how do u know that you can address me as such? Still waiting for her reply though. I never recall telling her ppl call me ACH at times.

This 'nick' started all the way back when i was in secondary 2. I always like to day dream during class you see... it was the first week of school and i was caught day dreaming by my english teacher. She asked for my name, and my dear friend simply replied. "Call him ACH !!" Ever since then, friends in JC, Uni and even the army still call me by that name every once in a while. Its weird how it spread.. i din do it intentionally by telling them oh you can call me ACH, more often than not it was they whom overheard my sec sch friends calling me that; and they simply followed suit...if u were in AJC in 2001 to 2002 or even 2003, u might have seen the word ACH scribbled all over the lecture halls' and tutorial rooms' tables using correction fluid, it wasn't written by me, it was by my class mate. He wrote so many ACH here there everywhere that my sec school's classmates always ask me if i am zhi lian. Well well.. anyway, my dad is ACH too...and yes you guys can call me ACH if you want to, i will respond.

you know some American companies like Hewlett Packard (HP), JP Morgan as well as Ben and Jerry's are all started using their founders' name? Maybe i should start a company call ACH Pte Ltd and see how far it goes. It's main business will be erm... name branding and viral marketing... hahah..

This holiday, there are so many things that needs to be done and one of my NTU friend is in China, so that makes progress for the NTU project much slower than expected. The tuition thingie is giving me lotsa lotsa headache, i think it shd be scraped totally. You know at times when u r in business school and you encounter some really simple MCQ or structured question, and you start to think to yourself "what crap, these are so easy and obvious!" However, these so called simple questions are simple because most of the real life variables have been fixed for you. If those variables werent fixed, it can be turned into one humogous essay question worth 70 over marks. (akin to one huge irritating ulcer formed by the combinations of 2 to 3 smaller ones that are so close to each other. Then when u accidently bite onto it it bleeds like hell and for hours non stop and u keep drinking, tasting your own blood with every mouthful of saliva that you swallowed.. oh sorry i've digressed) The simplest thing can turn out to be the most nagging of issues. Things such as payments, for our NTU case, turns out to be the most irritating part and marketing turns out to be the easiest and cheapest. Shouldnt it be the other way round as stated in the books? damn...

Needa meet up with some friends this holiday, especially the chemical engineers, it has been a awhile. Just to chill, play mahjong, bbq or inline skate, whatever lar as long as can see those familar faces again. i wont be doing any internship nor going overseas this holiday just stay in tiny Singapore (rejected the uni of alberta summer programme as well as the Korea's one after being accepted, i think i will be blacklisted by the IRO soon).

Anyway, light house family are one of my favourite group of all time (their discs are with my sec sch friend and i have forgotten whom i have lent it to, darn) followed by wet wet wet and goo goo dolls etc. You just cant find this sort of music these days. i will set up another blog for investment and stocks discussion (if time permits). Wonder if anyone will take them seriously or even read them in the first place. Oh well.. i will inform you guys once it it up... tc all.

Sunday, May 4, 2008

alright, i have finished 4 papers, so far so good. 2 more to go... next sat will be my last paper.. thursday will be my next paper, 3 days to study for it..i am already losing momentum...

Technical elective module: thank god the prof din wanna kill us,
Biz law: Under product liability another product exploded, just like in previous years
Finance: 2 long questions were repeated from last year (60marks) just that he changed something. MCQ was really tricky.
Operation Management: they said it will be hard and it was disgusting...

last paper is on the 10th of May, ..Anyway, its always good to ask questions during the examinations cos some profs will just give u the answers unknowingly. that happened during OM, there was a variable missing and i cant proceed unless without that figure... so i raised my hand and asked what is going on, the prof replies, u have to find the variable yourself. and i was like 'thanks a lot man!!'... when i was in year 2 , doing fluid mechanics, i was stuck at a particular question so i ask the prof too, immediately he drew me the diagram which turns out to be the answer itself... so just ask if u r unsure, of cos some will be assholic and reply to u things like 'you shd know this' etc.. still.. there is a chance that the answers will be given just like that, sometimes 'computer hang' during test u see, need to reboot abit...hah.. well well back to books.. some soft rock music..

anyway, who has this song? I'll be there by Escape Club? cant find it..
